Work at Visy is varied for Louise, a Systems & Account Manager in our newest division, Visy Retail Services. She’s part of the Strategic Retail Team focused on our retail customers.
Given we are a new division, a big focus for my role is to help develop systems and processes to manage customers, projects and information, says Louise.
“As well as this, I support and manage our retail customers along with reviewing the Australian retail landscape to scope out and identify new target customers. I review retail market insights and reporting regularly to ensure we understand where retail is heading.”
“I now have an excuse to call my slight online shopping addiction ‘market research for work’ and trips to Bunnings, Officeworks or even Chadstone Shopping Centre qualify as work!”
Louise is a part of the team supplying Australian-made paper bags to retailers.
“It’s been great to be involved in supplying paper bags to customers. There are a lot of future opportunities here as retailers continue to choose more sustainable packaging.”
“It might sound boring to some, but I enjoy creating or improving processes so we’re more efficient and providing the information our leaders and customers need to make decisions based on facts.”
Louise started in our graduate program.
“At the time, I had just finished university and was pretty unsure of what I was going to do. The business rotations in the program really appealed to me. I also really enjoyed the size and sustainability aspects of Visy and wanted to explore that further. One thing led to another and here I am nearly 6 years later.”
She really enjoys the variety of work at Visy, as each day is different.
“I’ve been lucky to work across different parts of the business. When I started, I did rotations in the strategic sales team and procurement. I stayed in procurement for a few years before moving to Visy Retail Services in 2023. I’ve also had the opportunity to support Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme.”
“Working in different teams means I have met and learnt from different people along the way. This has brought about different projects and opportunities to use my skills along with developing new ones.”
She says Visy is full of opportunities.
“If you were like me at the start of your adult career and a bit unsure of what to do, Visy is a great place to work. You can try new things and work across different teams and really explore what you enjoy. There is always a chance to get involved in something different or try something new that you haven’t done before.”
