For Collins, a die cutter finishing machine operator at our board site in O’Connor in Perth’s south west, Visy’s sustainability leadership was a draw card to joining.

Collins has a range of responsibilities, including operating and monitoring machine and print quality, training new team members, maintenance and troubleshooting, safety and compliance, and working with the team to streamline production and continuously improve processes.
But it’s not just the day to day work that keeps Collins engaged.
“At the height of COVID-19, we had a machine that came from another site. Because the machine came during lockdown, we couldn’t get the previous operator to come and train us. As a result, I was instrumental in figuring out how it functioned. It was exciting and fun!”
He also enjoys working with the team.
“Since we spend a lot of our time together here, Visy is like a second home to me.”
“We have a great, diverse and multicultural team here. All excellent people, top professionals. We look after each other so well and we are one BIG happy family away from home. There is a lot of banter but at the end of the day we all respect each other.”
