From automated guided vehicles in a glass factory to energy dashboards at our paper recycling sites, Jessie has covered a lot of ground in just two years at Visy.
She is currently a business analyst in our Digital Automation & Innovation Team.
She engages with divisions across our business to see where we can harness the benefits of automated intelligence, machine learning and robotic process automation. She contributes to strategic technology programs and process improvement to streamline tasks and enhance productivity.
After graduating with a computer science degree, she joined Visy because of her interest in robotics. She applied for an engineering role, working with automated guided vehicles.
“I absolutely loved the role and the team. The analytic opportunities really piqued my interest. It was with a heavy heart that I asked to move to a data science-oriented role. Anytime I get a call from the team I gladly give a hand as they have some of the most interesting problem-solving opportunities.”
She says she loves being challenged.
“I love problem solving, especially with data. Every day I come across new challenges and I'm always excited to find a solution. I also love the amount of learning I have received while working here. Visy has so many extremely knowledgeable employees and I am grateful to have to opportunity to learn from them.”
She’s found the challenges manageable thanks to her managers and role models.
“Everyone has been so lovely, and I have had amazing role models every step of the way. Working in my division has been an amazing experience, allowing me the opportunity to connect and work with so many people, giving me a diverse experience.”
She says there are lots of opportunities to develop at Visy.
“If you're stuck never be afraid to ask for help! People are very understanding and give you a lot of space to learn.”
